APPLICATION PROCESS

  1. Students from both Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties exhibiting livestock at the county fair apply to 37th Buyer’s Coalition to purchase their animal at auction.

  2. Funds are raised through grants, non-profit partnership and community support.

  3. The 37th Buyer’s Coalition Team reviews student applications.

  4. The team attends livestock auctions and purchases animals based on application status, and the need for auction support.

  5. Proteins purchased are then processed and donated to local organizations.

This application process is open to all students in 4-H, FFA, and Grange exhibitors in San Luis Obispo County and Santa Barbara County that are officially registered for the Santa Barbara County Fair livestock show.

To be eligible for consideration from this committee, exhibitors must complete the following steps: [must do #1 & 2 before completing this form]

1. Complete and send 5 formal Buyer's Letters into our community. Must be shown/verified by leader/advisor. A written document from the leader/advisor will need to be uploaded for verification of the applicant's additional 5 letters. See bottom of application for details and sample.

2. Complete and send the Buyer's Committee a letter to the address listed below. Letters must be POSTMARKED no later than Friday, June 28, 2024.
